Positive Support Group & Human Rights
All PSG services provide person-centred support to ensure that the individuals we support always come first. A big focus of our support is to get to know the person, whether this is through conversation with them, joining into their favourite activities, or working with key stakeholders who know the individual best. This provides PSG with information on what is important to the individual and helps us to tailor our support to benefit them the most.
PSG always work with the individual and their stakeholders to identify goals that are important to them and will be helpful to improve their quality of life. This can vary from support with emotion regulation, communication skills, getting a job, or building close relationships with others.
Alongside supporting individuals to achieve set goals, PSG also aim to increase clients’ and their stakeholders’ confidence to advocate for their needs to ensure they are active in shaping their support. By ensuring that individuals and stakeholders can effectively advocate for their needs, this minimises risks that their human rights are restricted or overlooked.
