Supporting David’s London Marathon Fundraiser for Pancreatic Cancer UK
Positive Support Group is proud to be supporting David Rose as he prepares to take on the London Marathon on 26 April in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK.
David is running in memory of his wife and mum, making this an especially meaningful and deeply personal fundraising journey. As shared on his JustGiving page, his fundraising is rooted in personal loss and a commitment to supporting better outcomes for others affected by this devastating disease.¹
Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most challenging forms of cancer to diagnose and treat. In the UK, it has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers, with fewer than 7% of people surviving for five years or more after diagnosis.² This is largely because symptoms can often be vague and the disease is frequently diagnosed at a later stage, limiting treatment options.³ Raising awareness and funding for research is therefore vital to improving earlier diagnosis, access to support, and the development of more effective treatments.
At our recent team day, staff came together to raise money in support of David’s fundraising efforts, with PSG matching the amount raised so that the full total could be donated directly to his fundraiser. It was fantastic to see colleagues come together in support of such an important cause and to contribute towards David’s fundraising goal.
Every donation helps to fund essential research, specialist nursing support, and national campaigning work led by Pancreatic Cancer UK, all of which make a meaningful difference to individuals and families affected by the condition.²
We wish David the very best as he continues his training and fundraising journey, and we look forward to cheering him on for the marathon.
